After we had successfully organised the Bertelsmann Management Meeting 2010 at Berlin’s Tempodrom, the CEO changeover at Bertelsmann was accompanied by a change of venue. The Bertelsmann Management Meeting 2012 was held in the group’s hometown of Gütersloh.
The spectacular architecture of the town’s new hypermodern theatre provided an ideal setting for a strategy meeting that focused on the future orientation of the media group.
There is a world outside the capital! The decision was a clear commitment by Bertelsmann to its roots and its headquarters in Gütersloh, Eastern Westphalia.
The strategic development priorities defined prior to the meeting – strengthening the core, digital transformation, regional growth and the development of new growth platforms – were presented, for the first time, by cross-divisional teams and documented with case studies from within the company.
N-EC worked with its project partners to develop a separate animated design for each of the priorities. The whole of the Gütersloh theatre stage including the floor was transformed into a large projection screen by the Nordmann Event Consulting project team, offering an impressive setting for videos, animations and live interaction.
Tracking tools and a combination of front and rear projection were used to create striking effects that supported and increased the impact of the presentations. The Bertelsmann conference was rounded out by two evening events, whose concepts and design picked up on the key topics of the meeting in intelligent and innovative ways. Henrike Nordmann has been organising the Bertelsmann Management Meeting since 1998 – at that time still in her capacity as Head of Event Group at Bertelsmann.
